Looks like a cute “Welcome to school” gift for the teachers.
The instructions call for Modge Podge. You can make your own with equal parts of water to white glue. I can see the supplies for these to be easy to get a $1 store. HAVE FUN!

School is just around the corner. Everyone needs a place to stash those pens and pencils.
I find this link to be a basic project. You can use ANY type of container, not just the one mentioned. With a hot glue gun you could easily add other decorations after you have put the paper on the container. Grandparents would LOVE one with a picture of their grand kids on it. (just print it off your computer). Scrapbook paper often goes on sale. Does that person have a favorite comic strip? Print those off and glue on the container.
This method calls for spray adhesive. You could also make your own “modge-podge”. Half water and half white glue.
